Papers, 1920-1949.

Manchester's papers are primarily official files from his work at Du Pont. They include general information on advertising and copy writing, and the history of Du Pont advertising. There are references to company publications, an early index to Du Pont Company literature, bulletins to the stockholders (1924-1942), Du Pont research and company promotion policy. During World War II, Manchester was involved in publicizing the use of Du Pont explosives in combat. The papers contained 22 photos of battle scenes, which are separately serviced by the Pictorial Collections Dept.
